VITRONIC <\/a>ist eines der weltweit f\u00fchrenden Unternehmen f\u00fcr industrielle Bildverarbeitung. The global group of companies develops innovative products and specialised solutions in the growth sectors of automotive, healthcare and logistics automation, body scanner solutions and traffic technology. Growth, presence and vertical integration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Since its founding in 1984, VITRONIC has grown steadily and now has over 1,400 employees in more than 80 countries across five continents. VITRONIC systems are primarily developed and manufactured at the company’s headquarters in Wiesbaden, Germany. A worldwide network of subsidiaries in America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia provides local support to customers \u2013 supplemented by a global network of sales and service partners. <\/p>\n\n

Challenge: Minimal set-up times with maximum tool accessibility<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

In 2019, VITRONIC purchased a new Alzmetall GS 800 5-axis machine, which will mainly be used to machine prototypes and small series. Short set-up times and clamping devices with excellent accessibility were important factors for Darius Adamski. <\/p>\n\n

Setup: Zero point standardised, modular clamping vises \u2013 from C2.0 to SC5X<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Together with Marco Sauer from SCHUNK and Klaus Thut from GRESSEL, a solution was found that perfectly meets the requirements. The decision was made to use SCHUNK’s VERO-S zero-point clamping system, on which VITRONIC uses various GRESSEL clamping vises \u2013 such as the C2.0 125-300 centric clamp with bracket or the compact SC5X 5-axis clamp. Set-up in combination with the VERO-S takes only seconds. <\/p>\n\n

SC5X in detail: accessibility, precision and speed<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

The SC5X 5-axis clamp offers even greater flexibility, even shorter set-up times and a secure hold. The jaws can be changed quickly without tools. With a basic clamping stroke of 130 millimetres and reversible jaws to increase the clamping range, the clamp can be quickly converted to accommodate a new range of parts; many different quick-change jaws are available. Thanks to the active pull-down, precise six-sided machining is possible on the 5-axis machine. Users achieve excellent machining results in terms of flatness and perpendicularity. The upwardly tapered outer contour of the SC5X allows for very good accessibility with standard tools. The operator can continuously adjust the clamping forces using a torque wrench \u2013 for example, for controlled forces on sensitive parts. During machining, integrated elastomer damping absorbs any vibrations that occur, resulting in a high surface quality of the workpieces. <\/p>\n\n

Mr. Darius Adamski already has his sights set on the next machines, namely a Hedelius Tiltenta and another Alzmetall GS 800. These too will be equipped with GRESSEL clamping devices. <\/p>\n\n
