After an interruption of one year due to the Corona pandemic, the Swiss specialist for workpiece clamping technology and production automation GRESSEL AG invited to the new edition of its well-known “Clamping and Automation Days” at its headquarters in Aadorf, Switzerland. In order to comprehensively meet the great demand for up-to-date, specialist information, the organizers supplemented the program of technically oriented lectures and application presentations with an exhibition section for system solutions relating to the automation of the production of metal parts. After the presentation of the organizing company GRESSEL AG as well as the daily schedule and finally the practical stations, more than 100 guests got down to the business of application technology on the spot.
To visit the six practical stations, the guests were divided into small groups in order to comply with the strict requirements for safe handling of COVID 19 on the one hand and to ensure an intensive, practical exchange of information on the other. Station 1 dealt with the combined workpiece handling with the gripping centric clamping device R-C2, the robot module R-C2 and the GRESSEL 6-sided station for unmanned complete workpiece machining. This in connection with a workpiece magazine for feeding a CNC machining center. In station 2, a combination of GRESSEL solinos hydraulic single clamp and SCHUNK Tandem pneumatic centric clamp incl. SCHUNK PGN-plus gripper presents The 3rd station was dedicated to the presentation of GRESSEL’s clamping technology portfolio. Among other things, new products such as the C3 centering vise for easy handling of small workpieces and the SC5X 5-axis and 6-axis clamping system designed for 5-axis and 6-axis machining were presented. Another highlight was station 4, which included a company tour of the production, clamping solutions and programming of components of the GRESSEL program used here. Station 5 dealt with the mechanical and pneumatic zero point clamping systems gredoc modular system from GRESSEL and VERO-S modular system from SCHUNK. The eagerly awaited finale was Station 6, where automation partners CELLRO, FMB, HALTER, PROMOT and STS Maschinendienstleistungen showcased their system solution expertise for rationally efficient parts production including. showcasing GRESSEL R-C2.

The time spent at the individual stations, including FAQ, was set at approx. 25 minutes, and a further exchange of information took place during the joint lunch and after the official part. The 100 or so guests from Germany and abroad who attended the two days were able to use a feedback form to give their assessment of both the content and the organization of the Tensioning and Automation Days. After evaluating the feedback forms, the Managing Director Jörg Maier and the Sales Manager Markus Lau of GRESSEL AG unanimously stated: “After the enforced, long absence, we wanted to give our customers and interested parties the opportunity to get an overview of the state of the art again on the occasion of a presence event, and not just to attend a rather impersonal online presentation. We can state: It was a success and we are very happy about the high number of participants and especially about the very good feedback!”
