Requirements for the clamping device
The company SIBA mainly produces quantities between 20 – 3000 pieces per order. The customer’s goal was to increase the machine runtimes on his 3-axis machine type Kunzmann BA 1500. For this reason, they were looking for small and compact centric clamps.
Selecting clamping devices
Together with our partner Ceratizit, Mr. Lukas Faak and Mr. Klaus Thut, GRESSEL sales engineer, the C3 L-100 centric vise was recommended to the customer. Due to its easy handling with integrated jaw quick change and its high clamping force, the GRESSEL C3 clamp is ideally suited for machining unmachined and finished parts. Due to its compact and lightweight design, the C3 center clamp is additionally very well suited for multiple clamping on pallets. SIBA GmbH manufactured its own pallets, on each of which 10 C3 L-100s were mounted, thus considerably increasing the machine running time. For the entire production process, 40 C3 L-100 centering clamps with quick-change jaw grip were ordered.
