New plates for “gre4doc” zero point clamping system

In February, Gressel, the specialist for workpiece clamping systems, is launching new plates for the gre4doc multiple clamping system. Compared to comparable 4-bolt versions, the mechanical zero-point clamping system offers more than double the clamping and pull-in forces. This results in significantly higher rigidity. Like the “gredoc” from Gressel, gre4doc also has a patented pin holder with a large loading clearance. The locking technology is designed with significantly fewer components than comparable systems. In addition, the gre4doc does not suffer any friction losses due to lateral forces in the drive, which means that overall friction losses are low.

Even more flexible workpiece clamping

The new plates complement the gre4doc system and ensure even greater flexibility when clamping workpieces. Users can now choose between simple 52 x 52 mm and 96 x 96 mm plates as well as 52 x 52 mm and 96 x 96 mm combination plates. The plates are only 27 mm high and their dimensions are perfectly matched to Gressel’s smaller clamping devices. All gre4doc plates can be operated from the front using a key. One clamping screw is required per module, the maximum tightening torque is 30 Nm. They are attached to the machine table using two M12 clamping screws in the middle of a T-slot, two M12 fitting screws (diameter 12f7) and an alignment and centering set. All three modules are characterized by easy handling and short set-up times. The locating bolts are pressed into the precisely fitting half-shells by clamping plungers. The locating pins are therefore positioned accurately in the X/Y direction.
At the same time, the locating bolts are pulled down by the accurately shaped retraction slope.

Repeat accuracy less than 0.005 mm

The gre4doc zero-point clamping system is hardened, ground and 27 ± 0.005 mm high. Insensitive to chips, it proves to be particularly low-wear. The ease of operation is combined with a repeat accuracy of less than 0.005 mm. The pull-in force is 17 kN for all four gre4doc locating pins. The 52 mm locating pins can be mounted from below in the same way as the 96 mm locating pins. Other locating pins can also be used.
